3개월간 저탄고지 다이어트한 결과
결혼 뒤 임신과 출산 등으로 체중이 20KG 이상 불어난 37살 여성이
여러 가지 다이어트를 시도하면서 살을 빼왔다.
그러다 새롭게 선택한 게 바로 지방을 많이 먹고, 탄수화물 섭취를 줄이는
이른바 '고지방 저탄수화물' 식단이었다.
아침엔 버터와 여러 오일을 섞은 커피로 식사를 대신한다.
이 커피가 포만감을 주어서 낮까지 배가 고프지 않게 하는 효자 역할을 톡톡히 했다.
점심엔 버터와 오일을 듬뿍 뿌린 상태에서 고기를 구웠다.
굽고 남은 기름으론 채소를 볶았다.
밖에서 식사해야 할 땐 순댓국처럼 지방을 많이 함유한 메뉴를 선택하여
밥은 뺀 채 가져간 치즈를 먹었다고 한다.
그런 노력이 효과를 보았는지 두 달 만에 5킬로나 감량할 수 있었다.
그런데 30여 일까지 심한 무기력증에 빠지는 등 몇몇 부작용을 경험한 터라
불안한 나머지 병원에 가서 검사해 보기로 했다.
이처럼 콜레스테롤과 LDL 수치의 가파른 상승뿐 아니라
뇌에 혈액을 공급하는 경동맥에도 이상 증세를 보였다.
그래서 담당 의사는 고지방 저탄수화물 식단을 중단할 걸 강력하게 권했다.
비단 이들뿐 아니라 대한당뇨병학회를 포함한 여러 의료계에서
고지방 저탄수화물의 위험성을 경고하는 목소리가 아주 높다.
그러나 이에 대해 반발하는 의료계 역시 무시할 수 없는 세를 형성하고 있다

저탄고지를 하면서 고기를 먹는데 그 고기가 옥수수를 먹은 고기임. 옥수수를 아주 농축해서 먹는 개념이 되어서
